Dani Pedrosa, rekan se-tim Marquez sudah melewatkan dua balapan di Amerika Serikat dan Argentina karena harus menjalani operasi cedera arm-pump. Tim dokter telah memutuskan untuk memberikan istirahat kepada Pedrosa hingga balap di sirkuit Monster Energy Grand Prix de France Le Mans pada tanggal 17 Mei mendatang, namun Livio Suppo menyatakan bahwa Pedrosa akan fit untuk tampil di Gran Premio bwin de España Circuito de Jerez. Namun rupanya Pedrosa merasa belum fit betul dan membidik balapan selanjutnya di Le Mans, Prancis seperti diinfromasikan MotoGp.com

“I really hoped to return in Jerez, but after riding a supermotard bike yesterday, we decided it’s not the best option. By competing in an entire race weekend we risk damaging the arm further and slowing down the healing process and the last thing I want to do is create a bigger problem. I’m missing my team and can’t wait to come back in Le Mans. Thank you all for all your kind messages, they give me strength in these tough times.”
